Breastfeeding Mothers Support Group
Breastfeeding mothers meet to discuss breastfeeding issues and share tips for feeding their babies successfully. This group is held in the Lactation Clinic on the 3rd Floor and is facilitated by one of our International Board-certified Lactation Consultants who will answer questions and provide resources as needed.  Please refer to the Classes & Events calendar for scheduled classes or to register online.
 
Childbirth Education Classes
Scheduled Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., or Mondays, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Be prepared for your baby’s birth! Learn about relaxation (including techniques for your support partner to assist your comfort and relaxation), breathing techniques, labor, delivery and your newborn. This class is for expectant mothers and their support persons. It is optional to bring a pillow and blanket for comfort. Light snacks and refreshments are provided.
 
Please note: some Childbirth Education classes are combined with the Mother-baby Basics class.
 
Prenatal Breastfeeding Basics Class
Scheduled Wednesdays, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.

This class is designed to provide expectant parents with information about the benefits of breastfeeding for mothers, babies and society. Parents will learn the basics of breastfeeding, including skills and techniques necessary for successful breastfeeding, and will have an opportunity to speak privately with one of our International Board Certified Lactation Consultants.
 
Mother-baby Basics with Infant CPR
Scheduled Thursdays, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m., or Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
This class is designed to help families learn about their newborn from the first hours of life and beyond.  Find out about infant growth and development, infant stimulation, newborn care and infant and child safety.  An infant CPR overview and practice with mannequins is available at the end of the class.

Please note: some Mother-baby Basics classes are combined with Childbirth Education classes.

 
Boot Camp for Dads
Scheduled Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon
Expectant fathers will leave the class feeling more confident, prepared for fatherhood, and ready to be a team with your baby’s mother. Content topics include the needs of mothers and babies, and the role of fathers. This class is led by Master Coach Fathers and veteran dads with babies.
 
Stork Tours
Please contact (220) 564-3388 to schedule a tour of our maternity floor.  Scheduled group stork tours will resume in 2024.
 
Sibling Preparation Class
Scheduled Wednesdays, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. 
This class is designed to help older siblings, ages 2 to 7 years of age, understand their place within the family. It includes discussion of a baby’s appearance, growth, what to expect when visiting mom and new baby, including do's and don'ts, and hands-on activities.  Parents are asked to attend and stay with their child during the class.
 
Grandparenting
Scheduled Thursdays, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
This class offers expectant grandparents information on infant care. It focuses on changes in the best and safest practices for caring for newborns in recent years.  An infant CPR overview and practice with mannequins is available at the end of the class.
