Licking Memorial Surgical Services provides medical care to both inpatients and outpatients. Surgical Services is staffed by four qualified general surgeons, trained to diagnose and provide care for surgical conditions affecting most external areas of the body and internal systems. Surgical Services offers a wide range of services, including office-based and hospital care.

Abdominal procedures – colon, rectum, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, hernia, stomach and small intestine
Breast disease
Cancer surgeries, including skin cancer excisions
Intravenous ports
Laparoscopic surgeries including esophageal and intestinal procedures
Skin and soft tissue – skin cancer and melanoma
Surgical critical care
Hernia repair – open and laparoscopic

Healthcare Provider(s)

Victor F. Ferrini, M.D., , received his Doctor of Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus. He completed a general surgery residency at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Ferrini is board certified in general surgery.

Christopher S. Meyer, M.D., earned his Medical Degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed a general surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati. He is board certified in general surgery.

John M. Mitchell, M.D., earned his Medical Degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio. He completed a general surgery residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is board certified in general surgery.

Brent M. Savage, M.D., received his Medical Degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio. He completed an internship in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron in Akron, Ohio, and an internship in general surgery at Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. He also completed a residency in general surgery at Wright State University School of Medicine. He is board certified in general surgery.
