Graduation Planned for Project SEARCH Interns
Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is hosting a graduation ceremony for nine students who participated in the LMHS Project SEARCH internship program during the 2017-2018 school year. The ceremony is set for Monday, May 21, at 2:00 p.m., in the Licking Memorial Hospital (LMH) First Floor Conference Rooms. The interns graduating are from school districts throughout Licking County, including Newark, Granville, Northridge, Utica and Southwest Licking Schools.
Project SEARCH is a business-led, high school transition program designed to help young adults with disabilities gain and maintain employment through training and career exploration. This is the second year for the program at LMHS. Each student was offered the opportunity to work in three different areas of LMH to develop competitive entry level skills for future employment. LMHS partnered with the Licking County Educational Service Center, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, Greenleaf and the Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities to ensure the interns gained marketable, competitive, transferable skills to prepare them for their transition from high school to a career.
