Community Education: Addiction 101
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Charles L. Murray Jr., APRN-CNP, will discuss the definition and diagnosis of substance use disorder, the stigma surrounding addiction, treatment options, and resources.
Licking Memorial Health Systems along with the staff of Shepherd Hill, a nationally accredited treatment center, will host Community Education: Addiction 101. Addiction is a chronic, neurobiological disease with genetic, psychosocial, and environmental factors influencing development and manifestations. The disease is characterized by behaviors that include cravings, impaired control of substance use, and continued use despite harm. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Charles L.
