The Facts about Vaping and E-Cigarettes
Vaping refers to the process of inhaling aerosol through an electronic cigarette, also known as an e-cigarette. Promoted as a safer alternative to smoking, e-cigarette use is growing at an alarming rate, particularly among youth. Misconceptions regarding the use of e-cigarettes are widespread with many users completely unaware of the associated risks.
In response, Licking Memorial Hospital (LMH) is pleased to offer a virtual educational event on Thursday, May 6, at 6:00 p.m., for community members interested in learning the facts about vaping and e-cigarettes. At this event, Licking County Health Department Health Educator Mary Richardson, CHES, CTTS, and LMH Tobacco Cessation Counselor Eric West, NCTTP, CHES, will address the latest e-cigarette research and available resources. The event is free; however, registration is required in order to receive the link to view the presentation. Registration opens on Monday, April 26. To register, call Licking Memorial Public Relations at (220) 564-1560.
