LMHS Welcomes New Pulmonologist
Licking Memorial Health Systems is pleased to announce the addition of Asegid H. Kebede, M.D., to Licking Memorial Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Kebede received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Jimma University in Jimma, Ethiopia. He completed an internal medicine residency at St. Johns Episcopal Hospital/State University of New York in New York, New York. He also completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the State University of New York. Dr. Kebede is board certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, internal medicine, and sleep medicine. His major areas of interests include lung cancer, pleural disease, critical care, lung procedures and bronchoscopy.
Pulmonary medicine is a specialty that focuses on diseases of the lung, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, chronic cough, chronic bronchitis, emphysema and pneumonia. Sleep medicine focuses on disorders of sleep, such as obstructive sleep apnea, snoring, restless leg syndrome, insomnia and narcolepsy. If necessary, patients are scheduled for an overnight sleep study in the LMH Sleep Lab for evaluation.
