LMHS Hosts Graduation for Project SEARCH Interns

Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) hosted a graduation ceremony for eleven students who participated in the LMHS Project SEARCH internship program during the 2018-2019 school year.  The interns who graduated are from school districts throughout Licking County, including Newark, Granville, Heath, Northridge, and Licking Heights school districts.  Four of the graduating interns were hired as full-time employees in the Culinary Services and Occupational Therapy Departments.

Project SEARCH is a business-led, high school transition program designed to help young adults with disabilities gain and maintain employment through training and career exploration.  This is the third year for the program at LMHS.  Each student was offered the opportunity to work in three different areas of Licking Memorial Hospital to develop competitive entry level skills for future employment.  LMHS partnered with the Licking County Educational Service Center, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, Greenleaf and the Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities to ensure the interns gained marketable, competitive, transferable skills to prepare them for their transition from high school to a career.
