The Buckeye Valley Family YMCA, Denison University, and Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) present the Health & Fitness Fest, Saturday, April 8.  Youth are invited to participate in numerous healthy and fun activities that promote youth wellness.  The free event will be held from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 p.m., at the Licking County YMCA Mitchell Center, 470 West Church Street in Newark.

Youth are encouraged to visit various activity stations located throughout the YMCA including bubble soccer, Zumba, yoga, gymnastics, a half-mile run, free throw shooting, football toss, an obstacle course, bounce house, and speed pitch.  Health screenings and information tables will also be available.  At each station, participants will collect achievement stickers upon completion of each health-related activity on their “FitTix” event cards.  Those who complete a total of eight activities and health screenings at the event will be entered into a drawing for great fitness prizes. 

Healthy snacks and beverages will be provided.  Youth must be accompanied by an adult.  Participation in this event will count toward the Active•Fit program goals.  For additional information, please contact LMHS Public Relations at (220) 564-1560.
