Community Education: Vertigo – Disorders of the Inner Ear and Balance

Vertigo, a disorder of the inner ear and balance, is a spinning feeling, and the resulting dizziness can range from fleeting faintness to a severe balance disorder that makes normal functioning impossible.  Roughly 35 percent of adults ages 40 or older in the United States – approximately 69 million Americans – have experienced some form of vestibular dysfunction.

Cheryl Barker, Au.D., CCC-A, of Clear Choice Audiology, will host a Community Education event about vertigo on Tuesday, August 11, at 6:00 p.m., in the Licking Memorial Hospital First Floor Conference Room.  A focused presentation regarding the impact of vertigo and health will be followed by a question-and-answer period specific to participant concerns and next steps for those struggling with vertigo.  The program is free; however, registration is required.  To register, please call the Licking Memorial Events Line at (220) 564-1560.
